Anne-Marie
qualified as a solicitor in 1973 after studying Law at Oxford
and completing her training in Christchurch. She was a partner
in a Bournemouth firm, specialising in property and family
law, before leaving to bring up her three children.
Since returning to practice Anne-Marie has developed her
expertise in family law and is now a partner with the firm.
She was one of the first solicitors to be accredited by
the Law Society as a member of their Family Law Panel when
it was set up in 1999.
A long term member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors’
Family Law Association) Anne-Marie is committed to its principles
and code of practice, which require members to adopt a constructive
and conciliatory approach to family breakdown whenever possible,
always ensuring that the interests of any children are the
first concern.
In 2001 she was accredited by the SFLA as a Specialist
Family Practitioner, specialising in Children Law and Advanced
Financial Provision. In addition to specialist experience
in these two areas of practice, she has wide expertise in
most aspects of family work, including divorce and financial
disputes and her long experience and technical knowledge
are enhanced by her sympathetic and understanding approach
to her clients.
As well as often achieving negotiated settlements, Anne-Marie
is highly capable at taking clients' cases through the courts
when necessary. She has recently successfully represented
two clients in achieving further financial settlements several
years after their separation from their former spouses.
